Abby’s practice is mainly comprised of corporate transactional matters, in addition to creative and intellectual property work. Abby, as the only child of a marketing exec mom and a small business-owner dad, grew up immersed in corporate and entrepreneurial worlds. Eager to get her feet wet, Abby worked throughout law school, participating in the competitive summer program at Warner Bros., counseling business owners in Loyola’s Business Law clinic, and working in legal clearance at Harpo Studios. After becoming a member of the Bar, Abby continued to work with start-ups and established businesses, often functioning as “outside” in-house counsel, before officially going in-house as Counsel and Director of IP at an Oscar®-winning multimedia production company.
Abby’s entertainment experience has made her adept at finding inventive legal solutions that provide protection while still allowing her clients to grow and evolve. Her background also helped her become comfortable with counseling in fast-paced settings. In addition to general corporate needs (such as employment, confidentiality, and B2B agreements, and internal policies and communications), Abby enjoys advising clients on soft IP (trademarks and copyright), branding, and licensing. Abby is skilled in assisting clients with the creation of consistent and efficient legal documents and processes.
Abby’s husband, Jordan, works in data strategy, and they have two young daughters, a Springer Spaniel, and a Havanese rescue. Abby’s hobbies include watching Ted Lasso and reality competition shows with Jordan, baking with her kids, advocating for mental health, planning events for family and friends, patronizing locally-owned restaurants and bars, and collecting mid-century modern housewares.
