Meet Grace Peterson! The Newest Member of Stock Legal!

Hi ya’ll, my name is Grace Peterson, and I am so excited to be joining Stock Legal as a Summer Associate! I just completed my second year of law school at Saint Louis University and would love to someday work as an international corporate litigator within the public health industry. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to further my knowledge in corporate law alongside the incredible team at Stock Legal. My first month here has been nothing short of fantastic. I am truly blown away by everyone’s friendliness and work ethic; the culture is amazing!

I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with two older brothers, and went to a small school in Ohio. At the University of Mount Union, I majored in National Security and Foreign Intelligence Analysis, played Division III lacrosse, and met some of the best friends I’ve ever had. As a teenager, I lost the ability to speak for one year, which forced me to really understand the power of words. Now, I can speak both Spanish and Mandarin, and through my interest in foreign languages, I realized that I wanted to effectuate change through spoken and written word, leading me to law school in St. Louis. I was drawn to the school’s excellent health law program, as well as its international opportunities which allowed me to spend my first summer of law school taking classes in Madrid, Spain, followed by a corporate law internship in Mexico City.

I moved to St. Louis in 2020 without knowing anyone or anything about it here but was lucky enough to end up living in the CWE, right down the street from Stock Legal’s beautiful office building. One of my favorite parts of my day is the five-minute bike ride to and from work, St. Louis is surprisingly a really bike-able place! Since moving here, I have thoroughly enjoyed roaming the historic streets, and exploring new restaurants or coffee shops in my neighborhood.

I could not ask for a better place to learn more about what specifically I would like to do after graduation next year. From sitting in on trust signings and reviews, to researching labor and international legal issues, I have had a chance to explore a wide range of legal topics and dive much deeper into my interests. Being a Summer Associate at Stock Legal has really provided me the opportunity to see how a small business law firm functions. I have had the opportunity to sit in on internal meetings and work directly with the owner, Sara Stock. I am also getting the opportunity to review legal documents and see the administrative side of an organization as well. No two days are the same!
