Winni Hiebert – A Day in the life of a Stock Legal intern

My day usually starts around 6:30 am, when I muster up the courage to get out of bed and make my morning coffee. My go-to is a vanilla cinnamon sugar cappuccino (although my frothed milk designs are still a work in progress). While sipping my coffee, I make my breakfast – typically eggs and toast with some fruit (this week it’s peaches)! I then pick a podcast to listen to as I eat, shower, and get dressed for the day.

After packing my lunch, I head out the door around 8:45 to make it to the office by 9:00 am. During my drive, I open the sunroof and pick my genre of music for the ride – usually a toss-up between alternative or country). Entering the office, I say good morning to everyone (including the office dog, Remi), set my things down, and open my computer to start the day. I check my Slack messages and create a task list, which can include both longer weekly projects and smaller daily tasks.

As a marketing intern at Stock Legal, no two days are the same. Since my time here, I’ve had the chance to work with the team to improve aspects of our social media platforms and operational procedures. I sit in on marketing meetings, where we brainstorm ideas and plan content. I've created and posted content on our Instagram and Facebook accounts, and the most fun has been using our TikTok, collaborating with my fellow interns to hop on trends. I've also designed various infographics displayed throughout the office and monthly email campaigns sent to clients. Additionally, I help with proofreading and editing content for the Stock Legal website.

At noon, I head outside to eat lunch with my fellow interns on the patio. We use this time to unwind and catch up on any exciting things happening in our lives! After lunch, I wrap up any time-sensitive projects from the morning. The rest of the afternoon is usually spent in meetings or working on projects for our potential new clients.

After saying goodbye to everyone, I leave the office around 4:00 pm. After work, you can usually find me reading a book, hanging out with friends, or catching up on my favorite TV show.

This summer at Stock Legal has been an amazing experience, helping me grow in so many areas of marketing, design, and professional skills. I'm excited to finish out the rest of my summer with the team and soak up everything I can from new projects!
