Hello! My name is Katie Schmidt, and I am very excited to be spending my summer at Stock Legal as a summer associate. I am currently a rising 3L at Saint Louis University School of Law. I am particularly interested in corporate transactional law, where I can use my legal skills to help businesses grow, manage risks, and navigate complex challenges, which makes Stock Legal the perfect fit for my summer experience.
Before attending SLU Law, I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in political science. My academic and professional experiences have strengthened my interests in working with businesses and clients to provide legal solutions. My interest in corporate transactional law began at a young age after watching my father build several start-up companies and navigate through the challenges involved. I was able to understand the importance of legal counsel in business operations, which inspired my interest in helping businesses and entrepreneurs succeed through the intersection of business and law.
Outside of law school, I enjoy playing golf, spending time with friends and family, cooking, and being outdoors. I also enjoy assisting with my family’s women-owned business, Skyline Roofing and Solar, which has provided me valuable firsthand experience in the daily challenges and opportunities that small business owners face.
