Welcome to a day in the life of one of Stock Legals summer associates. As part of this amazing team, my role is to help make the attorneys life’s as easy as possible. Whether it is doing research, organizing data, or filing documents for the busy attorneys. Join me as I take you through my typical day at Stock Legal!
My day starts at 9 am every morning, this is when I arrive at the office. I grab my morning cup of coffee and then check my email and slack to check if I have any new tasks for the day. After that I map out the tasks that I must do for the day I try to complete them all by the end of the day.
In the morning, I engage in various tasks. Recently, my focus has been on researching the new cannabis laws in Kentucky. I gather information to assist Chris, one of our attorneys specializing in cannabis law. Additionally, myself and another summer associate have taken on the responsibility of organizing and filing legal documents. This task is usually tackled after completing more pressing matters for the day.
Around noon, I take a lunch break where I enjoy a sandwich and chips that I pack daily to save money. During this break, I dedicate time to studying modules and practicing LSAT questions as preparation for the exam scheduled for September this year.
After lunch, I grab another cup of coffee to recharge. My afternoons are very similar to my mornings. I do research and any kind of task that helps make the firm run smoothly. Just last week I put together a treadmill for one of the attorneys. I am happy to help in any way to help people in the office.
Like the other interns my day ends at 4 pm. As I leave, I make sure to say goodbye and to have a great rest of their day.
Being a summer associate here at Stock Legal has been amazing so far. I am so glad to gain more experience in law. I could not wish for a better firm to gain experience. By the end of this internship, I hope to help either find or eliminate the kind of law that I want to go into. This firm is great because they practice so many different types of law. I am looking forward to growing the bonds with everyone here at Stock Legal.
