Ellie concentrates her practice on general corporate work for small to medium sized businesses. She advises clients in all areas of business development including entity formation, contracting, corporate governance, equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, and general business matters. Ellie specifically enjoys working with clients in the start-up community and has a personal understanding of the hurdles and obstacles that many start-up businesses experience. Her husband began a construction business in 2006, which he has grown into a successful, multi-state business. In 2013, he opened a software firm, which is also a growing business. As a result, Ellie has experienced the demands, challenges, and rewards that owners of start-up companies face. This gives her a unique perspective when advising owners of start-up companies, especially those with a need to raise equity.
Ellie was born and raised in St. Louis and is an alumnus of Visitation Academy. She graduated from Santa Clara University in 2003 where she received a B.S. in psychology and a minor in Art History. After college, Ellie worked at Mayer Brown, LLP in Chicago where she assisted in complex real estate sales and acquisitions. She earned her J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law in 2009.
After law school, Ellie worked as a volunteer attorney at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri where she provided legal counsel, advice, and representation to victims of domestic violence. She subsequently worked at Devereux Murphy, LLC where she focused her practice on transactional corporate law and litigation.
