The pursuit of happiness. That seems to be the main objective of why we do what we do. Jayne has come close by building a career assisting individuals with managing their legal and financial affairs in order to avoid disputes, stay out of court, be protected from creditors (to the extent possible without giving up control) and minimizing income taxes and wealth transfer taxes. Jayne believes that the main objective of trust-based estate planning is to provide structure around asset ownership that allows for flexibility and the opportunity to maximize results based upon objectives sought currently and at the time of a future event. Simply put, the objective of an estate and tax planning practice is the business of providing peace of mind. To accomplish that pursuit starts with being thorough in implementation of the plan and creating tools to easily review the planning periodically so that it remains current as life changes with respect to family circumstances, the character of assets accumulated, and changes in the law.
Jayne is a tax and estate planning attorney and CPA with more than thirty years of experience counseling clients and assisting them with the legal structure of their personal assets and business entities and transactions. Jayne’s estate planning experience extends from the initial planning stage to revising and changing existing plans and ultimately handling the trust and estate administration following a death.
Prior to joining Stock Legal of counsel, Jayne founded and successfully ran The Corley Law Firm, P.C in Creve Coeur Missouri for twenty-one years after first honing her skills as an associate in the Estate Planning Department of Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.C. from 1996 – 1998 and with the public accounting firm of Ernst & Young, LLP from 1988 - 1995. The merger of The Corley Law Firm, P.C.’s legal practice into Stock Legal, LLC met the growing need for stronger technological and security protections, and the desire to have a supportive and reliable team in place to collaborate with in serving each client’s needs.
Jayne received her Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. She received a B.S. in Accountancy from the St. Louis University School of Business. Each year Jayne attends continuing education programs to stay current with the applicable laws and planning opportunities for her clients.
Jayne is a member of Wealth Counsel, a national association of estate and wealth planning professionals, the St. Louis Estate Planning Council, and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys. Jayne is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, and the Mississippi Bar.
