Robert Wald - A Day in the Life of a Stock Legal Intern

I start the day by waking up before 7:30 am and letting my dogs out while I prepare their food. After I feed the dogs, eat breakfast, and make a coffee, I head to the office around 8:40. Usually, when I first arrive, I check my Slack messages and email to see if any attorneys have sent me any research to complete. After I review my messages, I start any requested research or finish projects from the previous day until around lunchtime.

For lunch, I will usually walk to one of the many restaurants located here in the Central West End. However, I typically play it safe and get Jimmy John's. I walk back to the office and have lunch with the rest of the team present that day. After lunch, I spend the rest of the day finishing up projects that I am working on, and if I am not busy ask around to see who needs help around the office.

Normally, I have a meeting or two throughout the day that our attorneys allow us interns to sit in on. As a second-year law student, I appreciate the ability to be present in these rooms, as these meetings provide invaluable insight into our attorneys' day-to-day responsibilities. These meetings also offer the opportunity to understand the ways in which our attorneys add value for our respective clients. One of the many things I value most about being here at Stock Legal is that there is almost always something to learn from our attorneys. Occasionally they will host client meetings throughout the day and ask for help with witnessing and scanning documents before the conclusion of their client meetings. Other times they will allow us to listen in on informational, important calls with clients.

After completing the necessary work that day, I leave the office around four and take my dogs on a walk when I arrive home. After that, I spend the rest of the day playing golf and hanging out with friends and family!
